Interviews with Baud members
Interviewee: Juliana Cabrera, Project Manager Trainee.
Interview date: September 14, 2020.
Within the framework of content in which to get to know our team members a little better, today we interviewed Juliana. She is Colombian, born in Cúcuta Norte de Santander, but since she was a child she has lived in Bogotá, the capital city. She considers herself a very friendly person, with values, committed, responsible, punctual, respectful, curious and creative. She studied Marketing Management and International Logistics in Bogota and a year ago she and her family decided to come to live in Madrid, where she studied the Master 'Branding: Brand creation and management', a very enriching experience. She says that it is impossible not to miss things from her country, but at the same time she feels very comfortable living in Spain and in this time she has met very nice people..
Why did you choose branding as a profession?
Initially since I decided to do my master's degree, for me branding was love at first sight, I had the opportunity to have great professionals as teachers, which helped me to understand and have an approach to the day to day life of an agency, also the execution of different recognized companies, allowed me to expand my knowledge and see cases brought to reality. I am passionate about brands, their essence, their creation from scratch and all that it implies. I love to see how ideas materialize and the process that each one of them requires.
What is the best thing about your job?
For me the best part of my job is learning, exploring with different brands, the experience, having the opportunity to share with great professionals and learn from them.
And the worst part?
The time we are living in right now limits us in certain things and does not allow me to see the performance of my team from a closer perspective.
What is the project or brand you have been involved in that you are most proud of? Why?
For me at the moment every brand has an important value and I get a lot of learning from each one of them, but I like to work with brands that have their values and purpose clear, that are consistent with what they say and do and that have passion.
Which brand/s would you like to work for? Why?
I think that any brand would be a challenge and a great learning, I could not choose, but I can say that I have always been passionate about the jewelry industry and the luxury sector (eg: Tiffany & Co, Pandora, BVLGARI, Tous, etc.) because I like what is behind each of the collections, their positioning, the memories they generate and the meaning they have for people.
What do you get out of working at Baud?
It brings me great personal and professional learning, knowledge and challenges me every day.
For you, what are the best qualities that a professional in your area should have?
Have intuition, do research, be analytical and do not take for granted issues or things that we believe are already a given.
How do you see the future of your profession a few years from now? What changes do you think may arise?
I believe that the profession of branding will be more global and will have more strength, because the companies themselves will realize that they have to adapt to changes and that it is not enough just to exist but to transmit the essence of each one of them, being closer and analyzing the rhythm of their audiences.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in your profession?
To be curious, not to take what is already taken for granted, not to be left with doubts, to value every detail and to be passionate about what he or she does on a daily basis in his or her profession.
In a nutshell...
- A benchmark: my mother.
- A confessable hobby: when I eat cereal, I like to wait for a few
minutes, until the cereal is a little soft. - A book you would recommend: The four agreements by Miguel Ruíz.
- Your ideal music to work with: Reik's soft music.
- A phrase that is your mantra: everything happens and comes when it has to come.
- A plan to disconnect: running in a forest across the street from my house and the
sea. - Something surprising about you: I love to run, kick boxing, I enjoy the
plans at home and I am very familiar.
