Interviews with Baud members

Interviewee: Gonzalo Gasset, Business Development.
Date of the interview: June 19, 2020.

We continue with the new content framework in which we can get to know the members of our team a little better, those who build Baud. Gonzalo is a person driven by adventure, whether physical or mental, seeking new challenges every day. Honest and loyal, if he can help you, he will be delighted. Taste for design and aesthetics due to personal hobbies, but professionally grown within the commercial branch of different sectors. Honest, communicative and practical, he always tries to find the best solution to the client's needs.

Why have you chosen Branding as a profession?

I love design in all its aspects, and I consider that participating from scratch in the creation and launch of a brand is a super enriching activity that also allows me to always be up-to-date in terms of trends, products, services ...

What is the best thing about your job?

Being involved in so many projects of various kinds. Talk today about the future of restaurants in Madrid, next week about micromobility solutions for the city of Barcelona, or a niche premium product next month ...

And the worst?

When a client does not open up to me, it is much more difficult for me to detect the needs they may have.

What is the project or brand in which you have been involved and of which you are most proud? Why?

A new instant messaging brand that is about to launch. It was my first project in Baud, but I also think that it is an app that has a long way to go.

What brand / s would you like to work for? Why?

Patagonia, Ternua, Ecoalf ... I feel very in line with the philosophy of the brands that want us to enjoy the world while taking care of the planet.

What does working at Baud bring you?

Knowledge of different branches, contacts, and several smiles every day thanks to having one of the best work teams that I have seen in my life.

For you, what are the best qualities that a professional in your area should have?

Communicative, honesty, agility, active listening ...

How do you see the future of your profession in a few years? What changes do you think may emerge?

I think that as much as technology is breaking into more and more fields and sectors, business relationships are based on dialogues between people, '' tug of war '' and handshakes, and for now machines are not capable of doing so. well like people ... heh heh heh! So I think that within this area, the profession is not going to change much in the short-medium term.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in your profession?

Have many references! Be an avid reader, watch movies and series, advertisements, design books ... but above all be an observant person.

In a nutshell…

  • A reference: Steve Jobs.
  • A confessable mania: always put the volume of the car radio in even number.
  • A book you would recommend: The Magic of John U. Bacon.
  • Your ideal music to work with: anyone who keeps me awake… From classic Rock & Roll to Acid Jazz or House.
  • A phrase that is your mantra: Sab Kuch Milega which in Hindi means '' everything is possible ''.
  • A plan to disconnect: NATURE always.
  • Something surprising about you: I consider myself very versatile and chameleonic. From sewing socks, to sharpening knives ...
